Jürgen Waller     04.06. – 25.08.2019

Jürgen Waller. Zum 80. Geburtstag

On the occasion of his 80th birthday, the painter and object maker Jürgen Waller will be honored with four exhibitions in Bremen. The Kunsthalle Bremen presents paintings by the artist from its collection and shows for the first time three new additions that were recently donated to the Kunstverein. The focus of the exhibition is on Waller's figurative paintings from 1968 to the 1980s, which are devoted to socio-critical issues. This group is complemented by a work from Waller's series of black pictures from the 1990s and his important media installation Manhattan from 2001. Jürgen Waller influenced as Professor and Rector of the University of the Arts Bremen the art scene in Bremen decisively.

The other exhibitions are at:

HfK Bremen, Galerie Dechanatstraße (20.07. – 15.08.2019)

Weserburg: Museum für moderne Kunst (20.07. – 01.09.2019)

Galerie Birgit Waller (20.07. – 30.08.2019)

Joint opening of the exhibitions: 19.07.2019, 6 p.m. at HfK Bremen, Galerie Dechanatstraße
