Booklets for visiting the museum
An activity booklet for children and introductory texts in simple language in German and Russian are available at the ticket desk. The activity booklet is also available in English and Arabic.
New: Visual meditations for children (in German)
As part of a cooperation, tonies® is providing the Kunsthalle with ten Tonieboxes. Using these, children aged eight and above can explore the collection independently whilst practising simple mindful exercises. The Kunsthalle has developed visual meditations based on selected works from the permanent exhibition – including works by James Turrell, Paula Modersohn-Becker and Rachel Ruysch – which provide an age-appropriate introduction to the art. From 5 September 2026, the audio boxes can be borrowed from the ticket desk for a deposit.

Café Sylvette
For a short break (not just) during your museum visit: Café Sylvette in the foyer of the Kunsthalle Bremen awaits visitors with a large selection of coffee and tea specialties, freshly filled sandwiches and bagels, delicious organic cakes and fresh baked goods such as croissants and pastel de nata.
The café is open during the opening hours of the Kunsthalle: Tue 10 am - 8 pm | Wed to Sun 10 am - 5 pm
Restaurant Canova
The Kunsthalle’s restaurant Canova awaits you on the southern side of the museum. Guests are able to enjoy food and drink on the Canova’s terrace in an idyllic park setting. The restaurant and bar’s interior also impress with their spacious rooms, high ceilings and the long bar.
From Tuesdays to Sundays, Canova offers an extensive breakfast menu from 9 am to 2 pm, followed by the daily menu from noon until 5 pm: a mix of metropolitan and home-style cooking, exciting seasonal vegetables and regional beef. Fine dining starts from 6 pm on Thursdays to Saturdays. The Canova team then awaits you with high-quality regional ingredients, exciting product cuisine and a 5-course menu with animal products as well as a completely vegetarian menu.
The name of the restaurant was inspired by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova (1757-1822), whose famous marble sculpture Psyche is part of the Kunsthalle’s collection.
How to get to the Kunsthalle Bremen
The Kunsthalle is situated between the city centre and Ostertor, in close surroundings of the Wallanlagen.
