About the Collection

Masterpieces from 700 Years of Art History

The Kunsthalle holds the extensive and diverse collection of the Kunstverein in Bremen. It spans the fourteenth century to the present day with European paintings ranging from the Middle Ages to the present, sculptures from the sixteenth to the twenty-first centuries, and outstanding examples of international media art. One highlight of the collection is the Department of Prints and Drawings, which is one of the most important assemblages of graphic works in Europe, containing over 200,000 drawings and prints. During a visit to the Kunsthalle, permanent and temporary exhibitions will take you on an exciting journey through the history of art.
